Wedding Wednesdays Q&A: Wedding Logistics You Shouldn’t Forget
Q: I’m a couple of months out from my wedding and I’m doing ok with my planning. But, I’m feeling nervous because I don’t really know what I’m doing. I keep thinking, what am I forgetting? So, what am I forgetting? Help!
Wow, this is a biggie question. And while I applaud you for asking, it’s a hard question to answer without knowing anything about your wedding or situation. But, I want to make sure we get you some help. So, while I can’t speak to your specific situation, I can speak generally about wedding logistics.
There are some common items that couples do either tend to forget or just don’t think about. Most of the biggie items I will assume you’ve taken care of like hiring your vendors, creating your design, and schedule. But, here are some of the smaller wedding logistics you may have overlooked or not known about that are important to take care of.
Wedding Logistics You Shouldn’t Forget
1. Vendor Items – Make sure you have all your vendor items taken care of. You’ll want to have all your questionnaires filled out. You’ll need a final shotlist and songlist. And make sure you have all the items they need (like tables, chairs, etc..) and a vendor meal for those who need one.

2. Wedding Details – Make sure you have all of your other stationery items printed or made. In particular, finalize your table numbers or names. And if you’re having a plated meal, remember, you need to have a meal indicator on your seating/escort card or place card. Your venue/caterer will need this in order to know who gets which meal.

3. Guest Count and Seating Chart – Don’t forget to include yourselves in your guest count and in your seating chart! I’ve seen this so many times. And don’t forget the kids with regards to kids meals, booster seats and highchairs.

4. Wedding Day Prep – Make sure you’ve got everything you need for yourself including all accessories. Make sure you know who is going to handle the wedding day (Hint: Not you!) and who is going to be in charge of what.

While these are just some of the most common wedding logistics you’ll need to think through, working through them will help to ensure a smooth and happy wedding day.
